Tupa Ruja - Voice & Didjeridoo

Profile Information

About me:
From the meeting of Martina Lupi and Fabio Gagliardi was born the choice to create a new musical style: voice and didjeridoo. An unusual duet with sounds that are researched and essential at the same time, capable to evoke ancestral sensations; new sounds but also ancient like the roots of our ancestors. Their musical choice does not abandon its very particular origins: the Tupa Ruja in fact unites and the rhythm of the didjeridu, with the melodies and Italian texts, with the results of being the only group to propose and to carry forward such project. What characterizes them is their continuous artistic research; infact, whilst Fabio Gagliardi plays the didjeridoo, mostly utilizing his own unique techniques, and other ethnic musical instruments like the scacciapensieri (Jews harp), the harmonic flute, as well as different percussion combined with harmonic singing, Martina Lupi is able to compose evocative melodies that accompany texts composed by herself and she enriches the shows with her oriental dancing and fire juggling.

“Those who have the luck to communicate their passion through an art, whatever it be, must do so always by transmitting sincerely what they feel inside, without recounting what the rest of the world would like to hear, but saying exactly what they want to say”.

--------------------------------------------
