Khöömii workshop in Bordeaux, France! at Communauté Urbaine de Bordeaux (le lieu sera précisé ultérieurement)

January 27, 2018 to January 28, 2018

NEW CD - February 2012
MEÏKHÂNEH - LA MAISON DE L'IVRESSE

EP 6 TRACKS - autoproduction
Recorded in "La Caisse à Musique", in La Fonderie (Le Mans, France)
Recordings, Mix and Mastering by Hervé De Caro (Music-Avenue)

Meïkhâneh is a world music band from Rennes (Brittany, France). It's Three musicians, gathered with the idea of making an "imaginary folklore", by putting together different traditional influences.

The voice goes up to fado, blues, East Europe, or Mongolian overtone and throat singing. The guitar sounds inner-asian, classic, African and so on. The percussions remind us Iranian, Indian and East European rhythms.

The word Meïkhâneh comes from Persian poetry and means "Wine House".

We have also a project with Uuganbaatar Tsend-Oshir, a mongolian counter bassist, from Nurnberg, who plays with Egschiglen.

Together, we created a show, "Meikhaneh & Uugan" in summer 2011, in La Distillerie Art House (Bulle, Switzerland) for a very special event about Mongolian art, called "The Guardians of the Wind". We played this show one more time in January 2012, in Quévert, in Brittany, for the "Violin Festival".

We will also play together in Rubrouck (Near Lille, North of France), during the "Week of Mongolia in Flandre" Feast, on May the 20, 2012.

You can listen it or order the CD here:http://www.myspace.com/meikhaneh
