Amazing! This song is sung by Anda Union (安达组合), the best Mongolian throat singing band in China. The music is written by Se Enkhbayar (色恩克巴雅尔), one of the most well-known ethnic Mongolian Chinese musicians. The singers used two traditional Mongolian singing techniques in this song.

Résumé :

Dans la technique vocale du chant diphonique connu surtout en Asie centrale, une seule personne chante à deux voix : un bourdon (une note grave) constitué par le son fondamental, et une mélodie superposée formée par des harmoniques sélectionnées dans la cavité buccale.
Tran Quang Hai, ethnomusicologue et musicien, enseigne cette technique dans un atelier d'initiation. Des images radiologiques et spectrales, en temps réel et son synchrone, permettent de visualiser les procédés vocaux du point de vue physiologique puis acoustique.
Deux artistes mongols sont interviewés et filmés lors d'un concert à Paris.

Concert découverte à l’occasion de la première tournée européenne de ce trio venu des montagnes de l’Altaï.

Lors de leur prestation, Alina, Sarimai et Arzhan nous proposent d’ecouter plusieurs types de chants et musiques traditionnels :

Recitation d’extraits d’epopees en voix de gorge et en solo : le musicien est seul, il recite un extrait D’une epopee, dans un etat proche de la transe tout en s’accompagnant au topchour, le luth a deux cordes. Ce genre est nomme kaï.

Duo de chants de gorge : Sarimai et Arzhan chantent ensemble, nous font decouvrir les multiples facettes du chant de gorge et du chant diphonique, qui peuvent aller du son le plus rauque et abyssal au sifflement le plus aigu. Au rythme de quelques chansons, ils nous donneront a entendre des duos accompagnés au topchour, a l’ikili, a la guimbarde et au chor, flute traditionnelle de l’Altai.

Duo de chants rituels : dans un a-capella, Sarimai et Arzhan entonnent les melodies chantees par les Altaiens lors des rituels de mariage, lorsque la famille du fiance vient ≪ acheter ≫ la dot au moyen de chants. Alina et Arzhan chantent ensemble des melopees venues de la steppe, aux accents mongols.

Solo de chansons traditionnelles : Alina nous fait decouvrir le T’ianar, technique vocale feminine de sa region, au travers de chants magnifiant la beaute du paysage, la solitude de la femme et son ardeur au travail lorsque son mari est parti en campagne de chasse.

Solo de guimbarde et imitation des bruits d’animaux : Sarimai nous emmene a la decouverte du son envoutant de la guimbarde, et parseme son jeu d’un dialogue entre bergers dans la nature. On entendra le pepiement des oiseaux, l’excitation des chevaux, les chiens gardant le troupeau, le depart pour la chasse a l’ours.
