Profile Information

About me:
Shannon Michael Terry has immersed himself in the field of sound and music developing his talents in composition, arrangement, sound design and music production. As a multi-instrumentalist, Shannon’s main instrument is the Array Mbira, a 120 note, five octave instrument that combines the metal plectrum of an African Mbira/Kalimba and the Tetraktys, a mathematical idea and metaphysical symbol that embraces principles of the natural world and Cosmos. In 1999 Shannon created the Open Door Orchestra; a revolving ensemble of players from around the world that utilizes an array of instrumentation and eclectic influences. By using the art of sound, he explores new dimensions of meditation, mystery and imagination. Shannon is the founder of Primal Future Now Music, an independent music label with the sole intention to produce and distribute timeless music and sound art not restrained by its limited connotation.
As a band we are:
The Open Door Orchestra
Instruments:
Array Mbira, Voice, Om Bass, Nail Violin, Piano, Guitar, sound, Array
Nail Organ

Overtone Singing Techniques

There are many ways to produce vocal overtones. It depends by the structure of our vocal tract - tongue, cavities, ... - and our sensitiveness. We could explain our technique here.
