I've never understood why people who don't understand music, but who do understand law & (especially) money claim to come to the rescue when copyright seems to be infringed. Usually it's not the affected musician who benefits from lawsuits against the infringing party, but the copyright guard-dog. Sounds a bit like those Chinese triads and the poor restaurant owners to me...

@ Skye and all others

the GEMA confusing me since they told me that I need a licence for this site if their (GEMA) members present their music on this site. If they are no members of this network members of the GEMA I still have not to purchase a licence. Okay - some members of this network are members of GEMA, ASCAP, STIM, KODA - but the GEMA allows their members that they can use their own music for self-presentation on websites for free - in this case I think I don't have to purchase a licence. - The GEMA of course is as a German society extremly special. As member of the GEMA all your music is protected by this organisation. If you sing an improvisation, the GEMA claims to protect also this piece too!

Hello Jens,
To make the confusion complete: I joined both groups as I am a member of KODA, the Danish equivalent of GEMA. But the music I have uploaded to OMN is not registered.
Best,
Skye
