Routes Nomades Newsletter - February 2018

Marked by the birth of two discs linked to our projects, "An Anthology of Mongolian Khöömii" as well as "La Silencieuse" of Meïkhâneh, the year 2017 was full of great encounters and beautiful travels. United States, Mongolia, Poland, Switzerland – we had the chance to go through these horizons to talk about the Anthology and more broadly, Mongolian musical culture.
Here is a summary of our 2017 activities:

-A cycle of lectures on Mongolian overtone singing at the Universities of Montclair, Delaware and New York as well as in the Embassy of Mongolia in Washington DC and Mongolia Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.

-A trip to Mongolia to give the Anthology to the participants in 7 provinces, travelling the 2/3 of the country through more than 5500 km of landscapes.

-3 months of assistance in editing the documentary film Journey In Diphonia with the filmmaker Jean François Castell.

-Participation in 2 International exhibitions to disseminate our future projects: the Babel Med Music and the WOMEX.

------
After one year, the Anthology of Mongolian Khöömii keeps travelling in the mass media

Released at the end of January 2017 and blowing the candle of its first birthday, the Anthology made a long and beautiful travel in the international press. Thanks to the joint efforts with Veevcom and Buda Musique, we now have more than 140 pages of press review on this project! And it still goes on...
The last recognitions to close the year:
-Selection of the 2017 Top albums by Le Monde
-Best Album of Central and East Asia 2017 by the Transglobal World Music Chart
-Top 10 of 2017 of the Critics Poll by fRoots magazine, in the category of Compilations Reissues and Historical Albums
-Favorite of 2017 by the Mundofonías radio show.

Meïkhâneh's album La Silencieuse continues to receive great media coverage since its release in last June. Received ★★★★★ of fRoots, ★★★ of Songlines, ranked in 38th position of the 100 best albums of the year 2017 by the Transglobal World Music Chart and distributed internationally, the disc is the subject of excellent reviews in France, Spain, Mongolia, Ireland, Australia, USA, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Italy...
Over 60 international radio stations including BBC, PBS (Australia), WNYC (USA), FIP, Mundofonias have talked about the album.
