An Anthology of Mongolian Khöömii CD Launch in Ulaanbaatar!

Following the publication of the record "An Anthology of Mongolian Khöömii" in Mongolia, we have the pleasure to invite you to a conference-concert thursday, the 6th of July at 7pm at the Republik Bar in Ulaanbaatar.

Following the nomination of Mongolia, Mongolian Traditional Art of Khöömii was inscribed on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010. By participating in the elaboration of its dossier, Johanni Curtet and Nomindari Shagdarsuren noted the absence of a reference documentation that gives an overview of khöömii in is diversity. In order to fill this gap, they got the idea to create an anthology of Mongolian khöömii. For the occasion of the release of this album in Mongolia, the producers give a talk on the origin of the project, field research as well as the documentation and promotion undertaken between 2011 and 2016.

The presentation will be followed by a mini-concert of the khöömii performers participated in the album: N. Ashid, O. Otgonkhüü and G. Baljinnyam.
