New LinkedIn group for Overtone, Throat Singing, Healing Voice Professionals

LinkedIn is a powerful network for professionals to broaden their opportunities and horizons. To date there has been no similar group present there, until now. If you do not already have a profile at LinkedIn, I highly recommend that you set one up.

Description of group:

This group is for professional overtone singers, throat singers, healing voice practitioners, and teachers of such disciplines, including composers and choir directors working with overtones. This means that a significant portion of what you do in relation to these categories may be considered your business. It is formed, not for the purpose of competition, but in the spirit of cooperation and trust. The aims are:

*to discuss ways of cross- referencing areas of expertise, integrating them together and into disciplines not commonly associated with overtones 
*to expand public awareness about the existence of these variations and differences between them
*to help the public make informed decisions about their vocal studies, whether it be for purely healing purposes or advanced work in musical applications (i.e. esoteric vs. non- esoteric), ultimately generating respect for the professionals involved
*to network with each other on collaborative ventures, whether location specific or internet based
*to refer, share articles, blog posts and other social media resources with their followers

In my experience, it seems that every teacher in these areas has their own unique approach. It stands to reason that a student may benefit from a few different perspectives.
