I've worked & toured professionally since 1980 & have represented Australia at many international Festivals & events. My music is available on many CDs & printed scores - available from www.sarahhopkins.com . The Harmonic Whirlies : celestial sounding musical instruments I've created which EVERYONE can play are available from www.harmonicwhirlies.com
When I'm not composing & performing you'll find me out walking on the beach opposite my clifftop home in Shorncliffe, Brisbane !
As a band we are:
'Sacred Sound - Performance Journey'
- Sarah Hopkins (cello, overtone singing, Harmonic Whirlies, Choirchimes)
- Chris Neville ( didgeridoo, Harmonic Whirlies, overtone singing, percussion )
Instruments:
In addition to overtone singing I play Cello, Harmonic Whirlies (celestial sounding instruments I've created ), Choirchimes & percussion. I collaborate with other musicians playing Didgeridoo, Shakuhachi, orchestras & choirs
Influences:
I was trained as a classical cellist & composer & began composing when I was 16. I first heard overtone singing (sung by Michael Vetter) in 1981 in a park in Bremen & it changed my life ! From then on most of my music has included overtones (on cello, voice, Harmonic Whirlies, didgeridoo, Choir, Orchestra & Choirchimes ).My music is also inspired by 'world music'.

Thanks for your lovely message. Funny you should mention Filip's video, I was singing on it as well. I very much enjoyed performing your piece.
Yes, I write for overtone choirs now. Two of my pieces have been performed by European Overtone Choir and Spektrum. A demo was recently made of 'One by One' but I haven't heard it yet. I have about seven completed and lots more in the works.
All the best to you and I look forward to hearing more of your music.
    cheers, kiva

    Greetings! Dear Sarah,

There are no words that could describe how much I am glad to see Thee here at OMN !! :)
I was really missing Thee here since OMN was created!

I Thank Thee for accepting the invitation to OMN and also for Thy friendship.

(I am so sorry. My apology, for my delay. I was stabilizing myself in a new work and also we have moved recently with my wife to a new flat... so there is, err. was much to do around it. Now it is pretty here.)

May Mother Nature bless Thee and Thy beautiful creative music!
    Peace and Love
    Filip

More projects on the way indeed, at least at their own pacing it seems. You probably have "heard" of this, but just in case: http://www.harmonicpresence.org/ http://webapp.esalen.org/workshops/8630
