Overtone Music Network

a common space & database for harmonic overtones

Hi there. I'll be heading to Ulaanbaatar in August of this year (2017). I have two main objectives I'd like to fulfill while I'm there.

One is that I want to purchase a Morin Khuur and take lessons to start playing. So I'm curious about where I could go to do that. To find a traditional maker.
Two is to find a teacher who could share and expand my vocal experience with throat singing.

Any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated.

Hi Daniel, i recommend that You contact Munkh Ulzii in Ulanbaatar, a great guy who plays the Morin Khuur and who is also a great singer of Mongolian throat singing styles (Khargyraa etc.) : minkhaibartam@yahoo.com
Good Luck, Bernhard

Dude! Your awesome. Thanks a bunch. I'll let him know you connect us :)

Hi Daniel,
many greetings to Munkh Ulzii if You meet him in Ulanbaatar.
Another great contact here on OMN, but I dont know if he still lives in Ulanbaatar, is Andrew Colwell. If he is still there You can contact and meet him, he´s a great guy who knows all the overtone singing masters in Mongolia personally and can help You in order to contact them. His page here is: http://www.overtone.cc/profile/AndrewColwell
Kind regards, Bernhard
