@Iver : I think the flute should give most of the overtone, in fact combined with the voice, some frequencies should be enhanced. Narantsogt seem to use a quite soft voice, letting the flute sound, as you said, stronger.

I can feel the work you've done since the last recording I heard, Iver. Yes my flutes are more difficult to play, and wind from the breath usually stronger. It warm me to see and hear you play it.

Hi, yeah ney practice has been a help for playing tsuur but it will take me somemore tries to improove the sound of voice and flute together. I will make some various sizes of tsuur the next days

I want to make a PVC Tsuur, but I'm not sure what measurements I should use still. I'm told trial and error will yield good results, but I want a starting point nonetheless.

La renouée du Japon marche bien aussi ! Attention en la coupant, c'est une plante invasive qui se multiplie à partir de le moindre branche coupée. On la trouve en bord de rivière.

There you can find videos which explain how to blow in a tsuur-like flute from Iran, the ney. This website also provides measurements to construct your own ney in PVC.

I recommand you to listen to some persian ney, it's really intense.

Je viens de m'inscrire sur le post.
Toujours en train de batailler avec la Tsuur , pas encore trouvé comment sortir un son avec... mais je l'aurais la coquine , je l'aurais ! J'ai pas encore capté le role de la langue dans l'histoire , mais je trouverai bon sang ! Pour l'instant , tout ce qui sort , c'est du souffle ... le vent des steppes , quoi ! ;)

Ca viendra, ce n'est pas une facile, celle là... Avec ton ney (pas ton nez...), tu fais comment ? Pas de placement particulier de la langue ?

En fait , c'est un ney syrien ( type egyptien , turc ,etc... ) pas iranien... du coup la langue n'intervient pas , sauf pour l'articulation standard des flutes habituelles ...
