"Hi Marco, where does this theory with the converse volumes in two-cave-techniques come from? My own investigations show a significant lowering of the 3rd formant when rising the tongue tip to the pallet. Not effect on the first formant."

Wolfgang Saus replied to the discussion 'Open mouth overtones'
"You may look at the cave under your tongue as a Helmholtz resonater which rises it's resonance frequency by decreasing it's volume and widening it's opening - and vice versa. Usually sygyt-like overtones are obtained by a combination…"

Her er intro-teksten:

Hey Guys!!
What´s the big deal??
Here an advice from me, an professioell Khoomeiji with around 50 concerts a year:

Sauli is absolutly right!!
If you do a propper Tuvan ( or perhabs even mongol ) Khoomei, like me,
it is like singing Rock´n´n Roll - take the good old SM 58 - Yeah!!

That´s also what all professionell Tuvan Khoomeiji, like my friends :Albert Kuvezin, Mongün-ool Ondar, Gendos & Radik Tulush use, and what is offert by most of the big concert halls worldwide.

Hallo Sauli,
the workshops gave me some idea in how many different ways you can approach khömei. The Tuvadaughters and their manager were as good teachers as musicians. I am also very impressed of the efforts from the others.

Dear Sauli,
I am happy to hear from you finally after a few years. Even if you are not very active, I 'm convinced that you will show us what you have done in Finland and tell us about the activities of overtone singing in your country .
Thank you for sending me your homepage .
Best,
Tran Quang Hai

Terve!

Outoa.

Turussa on mielestäni erityisen miellyttävä akustiikka ns. Akatemian vanhassa juhlasalissa Rothoviuksenkadulla.
