Profile Information

About me:
From primeval times on the fertile regions of the Danube have always been a melting pot of different cultures. As a rich environment and living space for many ancestors: Celts, Germans, Romans and many more Austria was and will always be the central heart of Europe that remains up until today as an intermediary between East and West.

Following the roots NAM is a meeting pool of musicians, that gather in various lineups in order to fuse the spirit of ancient instruments with their own ideas to an eclectic new style of world music...
As a band we are:
Bernhard Mikuskovics (Overtone Singing, Vocals, Jew´s Harp, Ney, Dombra, Rybab, Dulcimer, Whistles, Rauschpfeife, Xaphoon, Guitar, Didgeridoo), Dominik Richter (Percussion, Didgeridoo, Jew´s Harp, Voice), Kemalettin Efe (Oud, Saz, Tanbur), Georg Baum (Celtic Harp)
Influences:
Ancient cultures from around the world

Kia ora NAM,
it has been very busy for me
so often i am late like the White Rabbit
in Alice and Wonderland
when it comes to communicating online
but i figure it's ok, the lotus unfolds
all is in divine order.
Been sitting here enjoying your music as i type.
Have included a pic of a 'purerehu'
a traditional instrument of Maori and abOriginal peoples
played by whirling around on a piece of cord
and thus maybe dangerous in a confined space like a stage.
The sound from them carries for long distances
like the sound of an aeroplane propellor
except in midsummer when the racket from the ciccadas
drowns out all other sounds in some areas of the bush.

Did i mention i love cultural fusion in music and art?
All of the cultures of humanity have great riches to share
and when they cross-polinate new possibilities open up...
Goodvibes flowing your way from the other side of the earth
:D

Dear Bernhard, you are the only one here thatnoticed that we have Pure Nature Music on board. That shows me. So for tomorrow you will get a star on the main page as a re-featured member of OMN. Could you write me a short text because you are really one of the stars of this network for 09.09.08 - ... what you like - but maybe that you are the dad of three babes here.
Thanks,
Jens

I love your music and hope that I can managed a concert with you here in Berlin and in Göttingen. It was a great pleasure and joy to listen your music at the Woodroot Festival during the Lumen Naturale. I was so deeply impressed by your music - the jews harp playing in duet and the harp and your overtone singing ... I hope that all you members of NAM will join this network. Hope you remember that I gave all of you three after the concert my visit card - it shall be more than a symbolic sign that we will meet us again. Thanks a lot to know you and that you share your music with us.
Your friend,
Jens
