I just found out about a great little feature that my music software has - score logging. That means that it saves a 3-minute recording of anything I do, such as play along to a pre-programmed loop, even if I am not sending my playing to a recording channel. The log can then be added to the multi-track after the fact, if I decide that the keyboard performance was particularly well-improvised.

I've recently been called "musical" by someone, which made me think... I have not really considered myself a musician, nor a singer. In my opinion, singers are people who don't just sing occasionally, but individuals who primarily entertain or amuse others with their voice, be that traditional singing or other vocalizations that are not speech, award-winning or not quite opera-ready.
