"for me it's just an interjection, as Dan said, like 'let's go' or somthing of the kind. It is also quite in use during tunes where there is an acceleration, like when a horse start galoping :)"

"Well, the drone is very important for overtone music, since there must be a fundamental tone. With a steady fundamental, a drone, you get the harmonic series you can build overtone melodies on that will always sound good."

""Shu-de" is an exclamation that means "let's go" or "giddyup", but is used more like "yeah" like in rock or pop music. The lone syllable "shu" is often used like that as well, especially in the…"

Alzin hears a Shu

Couldn't come up with a better title... Anyway, I noticed on some live recordings of throat singing that the singer makes a "Shu!" at the end of the song. (I never attended a live show, so I don't know about that.) I was wondering if that is something common, a coincidence, several songs ending like this, if it is a cultural thing or if it helps the singer to return to normal voice. Does anyone know anything about that? Does it have a meaning or is it just me? Is it helpful?See More

"Those recordings don't have much relevance to this network (I think), but they are interesting anyway. I always like to hear new experiments that might lead me somewhere new. So I'd give any soundfile a try."

I like the strange Kargyraa... It's Dumchuktaar, you know... sung through the nose.
You are getting good... breath length and tone steadiness is improving.
