Overtone Music Network

a common space for harmonic overtones

This piece combines Quranic recitation and Tibetan Buddhist chant, and processes them with time-streching and spectral smoothing. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Dave, thanks for your new piece. I am downloading your Invocation just now.
Thanks Jens, I am curious to know what you think!
I can't explain what I think about your music. But I have to write you that the sound takes me away. i listened now forth times and I feel that this music makes me psychedelic in the complete meaning of this word like "mind expanding" and "entheogen" ... but she makes me also a little bit aggressive. Really a new music composition.
Thank you for your impressions. I wonder where the aggression comes from, that was not my intention. But several listeners have reported a mixture of positive and negative emotions, so I suppose these things must be present. It is always interesting to me to be reminded that the composer is not always aware of all the dimensions of what she is making.
