Here's the complicated addendum. It shows how bagpipes, natural trumpets, and the diatonic scale combined in what's called the "Choral Key" which is D major.

Here's the article online that explains that all old folk tunes come from the natural scale.
Hi everyone,

I am a singer and I have just completed 2 large soundscapes, all vocal, where overtones are a main ingredient. Now I am looking for the best platform to offer the digital downloads for sale.

Any suggestions?

Here are a few samples for you to get a clearer idea. The pieces are 22m30s and 25m40s long.

Curious to learn if anyone else has a pre-existing opinion on this:

I'm making a record currently with various khomus instruments that are not on standard pitches by tuning sound sources to mathematically derived 'custom' temperaments. The basis of this rests (of course) with a precisely measured fundamental pitch. I'm going to filter the recordings in order to eliminate confusing overtones, I've been doing it 'by ear'.

Hey. I also found out that many English, French, Gaelic, etc. nursery rhymes were based on the natural scale. They were played in the round on short trumpets.
Hello All,

I just had a paper published that you might find interesting. I can't put up the short article because it's in copyright, but the esoteric supplement is not. It's here, but go to the bottom of the page to download it: http://trumpetguild.org/journal-supplements

It's entitled "The Devolution of the Shepherd Trumpet and Its Seminal Importance in Music History".

If you can wade through it, it shows you how to put an old folk song in the harmonic series so you can play it on a wooden trumpet (or metal one – long, about 7 ft long with no holes or valves), or by throat singing.

So if you're a throat singer, you'll want to see how to convert (recover) an old folk tune that everyone knows like "Frere Jacques" so you can sing it using overtones.

Best,

In this forum might be also a title ”Singing..."

I could ask this direct from Rollin or Wolfgang but maybe somebody else is also interrested.

If we filter overtones in mouth by tonque, we get low overtones from large space and high overtones from small mouth. Makes sense, longer waves fit in large space. But when I filter overtones by opening mouth, I get high overtones by opening my mouth wide open and low by closing it. Understand? What is the physical explanation?
